Betty H. Gulley
GULLEY, Betty Hoffman, of Chesterfield County, Va., passed away on October 5, 2008 after a long and courageous battle with diabetes. She will be missed deeply by all who knew and loved her. She is preceded in death by her mother, Hazel Daniels Hoffman and two infant sons, Joshua Adam Gulley and Jonathan Michael Gulley. She is survived by her husband, Russell J. Gulley; her two children, Jason Scott Gulley (Dawn) of Fredericksburg, Va., and Casey Elizabeth Delaney (Craig) of Springfield, Va.; and two granddaughters, Breanna Starr Gulley and Claire Elizabeth Delaney. She is also survived by her father, Rufus B. Hoffman of Charlotte, N.C.; brothers, Rex Hoffman (Donna) of Atlanta, Ga., Jeff Hoffman (Lauren) of Jacksonville, Fla., and Scott Hoffman (Cyndi) of Fort Mill, S.C.; nieces, Abigail Ellis, Leighton Serlo and Emily Hoffman; and nephews, Peter Hoffman and Adam Hoffman. The family will receive friends at Woody Funeral Home at 1020 Huguenot Road, on Wednesday, October 8 from 4:30 to 8:30 p.m. A Mass in celebration of her life will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, October 9, at St. Edward the Confessor Catholic Church on Huguenot Road. There will be a private graveside service at Forest Lawn Cemetery in Charlotte, N.C. on Friday, October 10. The family would like to express their gratitude for the support and love of friends and to St. Mary's Hospital administration, staff and Hospice nurses for their excellent care during her illness.
