ALEX A. DELLA-VALLE, SR. (Age 86)

Passed away on June 20, 2007 in Alexandria, VA. He was born in Pittsburgh, PA and went on to serve in WWII in the U.S. Army band. He has lived in the DC area for the last 50 years, where he began working as a jazz drummer in many local Washington nightclubs. He later began work as a graphic artist for the Department of Defense. He also was very active in the little theater in Northern Virginia as an actor. He is survived by his son, Alex Della-Valle of Alexandria, VA; brother, Felix Della Valle; sister-in-law, Ange Della Valle; two nephews, Philip and John Della Valle, all of Pittsburgh, PA. His remains will be placed in the Columbarium at Arlington National Cemetery at a later date.

Alexander was a former member of Fairfax Council 4522.  He painted the portrait of Christopher Columbus that has long graced the walls of our Council Home.
May his soul forever rest in peace.
